With a unique combination of experience and expertise, Mr. Bacon is deeply committed to ensuring the safety and security of our school community. He served five years in the military as a chaplain’s bodyguard, gaining invaluable experience in discipline and protection and spent 15 years as a low-voltage systems engineer, specializing in school security systems. His extensive knowledge in this field provides a strong foundation for understanding and maintaining a secure school environment. Mr. Bacon has also completed a comprehensive certification course through the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) to become a certified School Guardian. His training and dedication make him a vital part of our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff. And here’s a fun bonus: Mr. Bacon is a fantastic cook and makes a mean chili! Please join us in welcoming Mr. Bacon to our school. Mrs. Struble’s 2nd grade class is making math fun! 🎶 They’re mastering 2-digit subtraction with regrouping by learning a catchy song to guide them. In Mrs. Davidyuk’s 7th-grade class, students participated in a unique team-building activity called “Yarn Ball Realness.” This activity was designed to help students reflect on the dynamics of being part of a community and explore how their actions and words impact both their peers and teachers, directly and indirectly. Using a yarn ball, students sat in a circle and tossed it to one another while holding onto a strand, creating a visual representation of their interconnectedness. As they caught the ball, they answered questions from a list that Mrs. Davidyuk displayed on the board. These questions were scaffolded from least to most personal, giving students the opportunity to share more deeply if they wished. This engaging exercise not only built empathy and understanding but also highlighted the importance of supporting one another as part of a classroom community. 4th Grade Engineering Challenge: Egg Drop Edition! 🥚🚀 Our young engineers put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test in Ms. Ancelin’s class, working in teams to design devices that could protect their eggs from a 2-meter drop. A fun and hands-on way to learn about physics and teamwork!
