Principal’s Message

We are very excited about our growth in enrollment and the amazing new staff members who will be joining us for the 2023-24 school year! We will be growing from 181 students in 2022-23 to more than 320 students this upcoming year! We are also adding the "Terrific Ten"! These are the ten new staff members that will be joining our school to serve our students and parents! The new teammates are all certified and more importantly, HIGHLY qualified!! We will be sending out an introduction of all ten amazing educators on July 24th!! Although our goal is always 100% staff retention, we are sad to report that 24 of our 25 staff members will be returning from last year. Mrs Muniz, one of our incredible grade one teachers is relocating to San Diego with her family. We celebrate all she has done to create our beautiful school and we celebrate the next chapter in her family's journey!!

 

Enrollment Update

We currently are at capacity in grade K and have small waitlists in grades 1-5, and we have 2 openings for grade 6. Parents, even though we have waitlists, there is still a strong possibility that new applications we receive will be able to attend in the fall. In a typical year, around 90% of students enrolled actually come on the first day. Many of the parents on the waitlist have been there since before the summer and may have selected another school. With that, parent recommendation accounts for nearly all of our growth! If you know parents looking for a great school, please have them apply!!

 

Supply Lists

You may bring in items from the supply lists during our "Meet the Teacher" event. Parents, I do not want to place a burden on your family budget. If purchasing school supplies in going to be a challenge, please reach out to me at gstickel@gocacademy.com and I will work with you!!

 

New Positions at Intercoastal

One of the most important aspects of operating a highly effective school is building the capacity of our staff. With that we have the following changes/additional positions for the 2023-24 school year!

  • Mrs. Guarino- Academic Coach-grades 3-6 (formerly grade 4 Math/Science)

  • Mrs. Reid-Foley-Academic coach grades K-2 (formerly grade 1)

  • Mrs. Marollo(Trapper)- Dean of Students/Operations (formerly grade 2)

  • Ms. Torres-School Counselor (formerly grade 3 Reading/SS)

We are very excited by the impact these amazing educators and role models for children will have on our positive school climate and culture!!

 

Orientation Dates

Please mark your calendars, we have established our Orientation dates for the upcoming school year!

The dates are as follows:

  • GR K-2: Monday, Aug 7, 6-7:30

  • GR 3-5: Tuesday, Aug 8, 6-7:30

  • GR 6: Thursday, Aug 10, 6-7:30

We will review changes for the school year, distribute lunch forms, sell uniforms and assign car loop numbers! More details will be coming soon!

 

Meet the Teacher

Our meet the teacher events will give parents a chance to see the classroom, meet the teacher and drop off classroom supplies. Meet the teacher will happen Thursday, August 10th and times are as follows:

  • KG: 9:00am-10:00am

  • GR 1-2: 10:30am-11:30am

  • GR 3-4: 12:30pm-1:30pm

  • GR 5: 2:00pm-3:00pm

  • GR 6: 6:00pm-7:30pm
    Meet the Teacher will be combined with orientation, august 9th, (6:00pm-7:30pm)
